Fujifilm FinePix Z10FD

In 2007, Fujifilm reminded everyone that a slim compact could still be fun, colorful and full of character. The FinePix Z10fd packed a 7.2-megapixel CCD sensor, a Fujinon 3x optical zoom, and the era's new technology, face detection (the source of the "fd" suffix in the series name), into a slim body that opened via a sliding front lens cover. A design object that disappears in your palm, slips easily into a pocket, and perfectly captures the "cool camera" spirit of the Y2K era. Saturated Fujifilm colors and that nostalgic digital look unique to CCD are this little body's biggest strengths.

✨ Why This Camera

The Z10fd offers a fun combination in the slim class: a 7.2 MP CCD, Fujinon 3x optical zoom, face detection, and a colorful, pocketable body.

• 🔍 7.2 MP CCD sensor (1/2.5")
• 🎯 Fujinon 3x optical zoom, 38–114mm equivalent
• 🔎 f/3.7–4.2 aperture range
• 👤 Face detection technology
• 🖥️ 2.5" LCD screen
• 🎬 VGA (640×480) video, 30 fps, with sound
• 🌈 ISO 100–1600
• 💾 xD-Picture Card, SD and SDHC card support
• 🔋 NP-45 rechargeable battery
• 🎞️ Slim design that opens via a sliding front lens cover

The 3x Fujinon zoom, starting at a 38mm wide angle, offers plenty of flexibility for everyday use: comfortable for group and indoor shots at 38mm, while zooming in on distant details at 114mm. The sliding front lens cover doubles as both a power switch and an elegant lens guard — smooth and pocket-friendly when closed.

The choice of CCD sensor is the main factor behind the Z10fd's color character. Unlike modern CMOS sensors, it produces more saturated, more "filmic" colors — that familiar Y2K look that appears with the flash is this camera's signature. VGA video, meanwhile, records at standard resolution with sound — not HD, but a fitting bonus for those who want to carry that nostalgic digital aesthetic into moving images.

👀 Who It's For, and Where

A natural choice for anyone who wants to bring Y2K aesthetics into both their style and their camera, collectors looking for a colorful, pocket-friendly digital, and everyday shooters who love the convenience of face detection. The colorful slim body turns the camera itself into a design accessory.

It delivers character-filled shots at cafés, festivals and concerts, nights out, birthday parties, and in travel and street photography. Thanks to its slim body, it fits easily into even the smallest bag, or even a pocket — carrying it along is never a burden.

🔥 The RetroCameraLand Take

The Z10fd's real strength is combining a fun, colorful design with an accessible spec sheet. While most compacts stayed in the safe "black or silver" territory, Fujifilm built the Z series around color and character — and the "fd" suffix in the name points to the era's new face detection technology. It's a decision that elevates the camera from a mere tech gadget to an everyday accessory.

The 7.2 MP CCD sensor and 1/2.5" size may seem small by modern standards, but it's exactly this CCD–small sensor combination that naturally produces the "vintage digital" look so sought after today. Saturated colors, that familiar Y2K look that comes with the flash, and VGA video make the Z10fd an enjoyable slim compact both to use and to add to a collection. What's more, every unit is tested and approved by the RetroCameraLand expert team before joining our collection.
