Everything started in 1991 in a small photo shop in Istanbul. Ever since, we have discovered cameras from every corner of the world and introduced thousands of people to them. Today, thanks to our select curators and brand connections in different countries, we gather collector-grade cameras built to last for years, testing each one individually and describing it honestly to get it to the right person.
Our Story
It started as a shop window and became an archive.
Retro digital cameras are a trend today. For us, they are simply the natural continuation of work we have done for thirty-five years.
A photo shop
We started in a small photo shop in Istanbul. Film bodies sat in the window, and there was a new camera on the counter every day. The one thing that never changed was telling the customer exactly what the device in their hands really was.
The first wave of digital
Compact digital cameras hit the market. We got our hands on most of those CCD bodies we now call retro back when they first came out, set them up, tried them, and explained them to customers. For us, this period is not nostalgia, it is first-hand experience.
A worldwide sourcing network
Over the years we built curator and brand connections in markets from Japan to Europe. As phone cameras took over and compacts got shelved in drawers, this network let us keep setting aside and preserving working bodies, original boxes, chargers and cables. Many of the pieces we sell today come from that archive and those connections.
RetroCameraLand goes online
As interest in Y2K aesthetics grew, we took the store online. We started adding a condition score out of 10, an itemized box-content list and real sample shots to every product.

We do not have a retail store. We operate out of our office in Ataşehir and our warehouse at Istanbul Finance Center. If you would like to see an item in person, you can come by with an appointment beforehand.

Yes. We provide setup support for things like memory card selection, date settings, charging and transferring files to a computer. We point you to the right model for accessories and spare parts. If a fault turns up that was not stated in the listing, a return or exchange process is carried out.
